Dear Members and Regular Attenders of Christ Church,
Prayer is one of the grandest privileges of the Christian life. Think of it: God invites us to approach the throne of grace and to pour out our hearts to Him. God wants to hear from us — His redeemed children! Through the cleansing blood and righteousness of Christ we can offer God thanksgiving and praise, and make our requests known to Him. What an unspeakable privilege!
In addition to strengthening our individual walks with God, prayer strengthens body life. When we remember one another in prayer we grow closer as a church family. Because God answers prayer, and because prayer is a vehicle which helps us to better love one another and bear each other’s burdens, we are starting a new prayer initiative at Christ Church Presbyterian.
Starting today, there will be an official avenue through which you can share your prayer requests with the leadership and congregation of Christ Church. You may want those requests to stay confidential with the leadership. You might also be happy for the entire congregation to know of your request so that the entire flock can be praying. All non-confidential requests will be published in a small prayer bulletin that we will publish weekly. This will be available on the information table, and will serve to inform the prayers of our regular Sunday morning prayer meeting. We look forward to hearing from you.
Please send all prayer requests to our Church Life Coordinator, Mrs. Austin Griffin at email@example.com.
Your Pastor, Servant, and Friend,
Pastor Jon Payne
