Revised Sunday Schedule
Dearest CCP Flock,
Warm Advent Greetings! Establishing a new church is not for the fainthearted, especially as it concerns finding a suitable long-term facility. It can, at times, be discouraging. I’ve felt it recently.
At the men’s Bible study this past Thursday morning, I shared that if someone had told me that after almost six years Christ Church would still not have our own facility (purchased or leased), I would have said, “No way, you’re crazy!” But here we are, still meeting at Moultrie Middle School. In addition, in recent weeks we have been getting mixed signals from the school administration. We are still trying to work through their new requirements for room usage, and seeking to determine how much space they will allow us to use in the future.
With the current school restrictions and space limitations, Christ Church will NOT meet for Sunday school or prayer meeting for the next few weeks. Our goal is to resume our normal prayer meeting and Sunday school schedule for all ages on Lord’s Day, January 13th. Hopefully by then things will be resolved. The membership class will meet, however, at 9:30 a.m. in the main assembly hall (presently the choir room has been deemed off-limits by the administration and we are not sure why).
Therefore, to make it clear, due to space limitations there will be no Sunday school this Sunday (except for the membership class) and no congregational prayer meeting. Please take extra time on Sunday morning, therefore, to pray for the worship service — the preaching of the Word, the discipleship of God’s people, and the salvation of the lost.
Moreover, in the new year, I want to encourage you to commit to attending the congregational prayer meeting, Sunday school, and evening worship at Christ Church. God gave us the Lord’s DAY, not the Lord’s morning (or the Lord's 90 minutes!). Resolve to accelerate your spiritual growth in 2019 by devoting yourself afresh to the means of grace and all the ways that CCP provides for Christ-centered discipleship.
New CCP Lord’s Day Schedule (until January 13th)
9:30 a.m. — CCP Membership Class
10:30 a.m. — A.M. Worship Service
5:30 p.m. — P.M. Worship Service
Benjamin B. Warfield described Calvinism as “Christianity on its knees.” Dearest members of Christ Church, let us devote ourselves afresh to wait upon our sovereign God in prayer, and to trust him for his provision of a building. In the meantime, let us walk by faith and glorify God in all things. It’s an indescribable privilege to serve as your pastor.
Yours in Christ,
